A gathering of a minority of members of a public body is not subject to the OMA, as long as they do not intend to gather to circumvent the Act's requirements. The Act also does not prohibit members from presenting sequential briefings, as long as they do not intend to gather to circumvent the Act.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association is not a public body subjected to the OMA, as it is not supported in whole or in part by public funds or entrusted with expending of public funds, or administering public property. But, its constitution and statutory requirements requires it.

OMA applies to school boards. Presence of ineligible school board member at a meeting is not in and of itself a violation of the OMA.

Government does not have to allow public comment at a meeting, but if it does, it may only place reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions on speech. Grand River Dam Authority Lakes Advisory Commission is subject to the Open Meeting Act and the Open Records Act.

Both the OMA and the ORA apply to the Silver Haired Legislature because the organization is supported, at least in part, by publicly funded State agencies - therefore, making it a public body.
