Oklahoma legislators file Open Records Lawsuit against sitting District Attorney

It is not often in Oklahoma when state legislators, especially Republican legislators, file open records lawsuits against a District Attorney. But that is what happened here when Legislators Kevin McDugle and Justin Humphrey filed a lawsuit against District Attorney Jason Hicks. Hicks is the elected DA for Stephens, Caddo, Grady, and Jefferson counties.

The lawsuit appears to center around text messages between DAs and members of the Pardon & Parole Board leading up to and following the 2-2 vote denying a clemency request for potentially wrongfully convicted death row inmate Richard Glossip.
