Tulsa Police Department sued for violating the Oklahoma Open Records Act

Oklahoma Watch and reporter Whitney Bryen are suing the City of Tulsa seeking details of an incident that resulted in the violent arrest of a woman in the throes of a mental health crisis.

Tulsa Police Department has a long history of refusing to comply with the Oklahoma Open Records Act. Oklahoma Watch is now suing them for refusing access to a 911 call and various reports relating to the arrest of a 70-year-old woman having a mental health crisis in 2021.
